Fluttershy - FiMtG by Kitonin Fluttershy - FiMtG by Kitonin
Part of the first set of My Little Pony/Magic: The Gathering cards, I decided to make.

Fluttershy! Oh I wuvs you~

I decided to put Fluttershy in a more defensive role and leave the more aggressive side of her personality to another card. I was tempted to give her Battle Cry, but then I decided against it.

I like seeing other peoples' interpretations of what Fluttershy would do. Mine is somewhat similar to yours, but still different. Interesting card but I don't understand what makes a card an epic rare

Two words: Muraganda Petroglyphs.

epic rare? on the 5 turn on game, then on the 6 attack, and then its start to get inflated, its maybe a good defense, but its vulnerable to spells, maybe if she have shroud, that would make her epic.

Changing it to squirrel would allow use of other squirrel cards in MTG.

Whenever Fluttershy attacks, put a 0/1 white Rabbit token onto the battlefield.
Fluttershy gets +0/+1 and can block an additional creature for each Rabbit creature token on the battlefield."

Wow, despite she's not all that a fighting pegasus, even a simple Black Knight or Youthful Knight can be killed. :o

Instead of attacking, I'd think it would be - sides fitting lorewise - very much white/green to have the first ability pop upon summoning a (nontoken) creature. Although that could create some potential for infinite bunnies. Which I'm not sure is that bad anyway.

I do like the second ability though :)

My take on Fluttershy:

Fluttershy 1WW
Legendary Creature - Pegasus
Flying, defender
When ~ comes into play, put a 1/1 green Squirrel creature token into play.
When a creature with power 3 or greater comes into play under an opponent's control, return ~ to its owner's hand.

Interesting concept. Why not instead:
Fluttershy 2WG
Flying, Vigilance
When Fluttershy enters the battlefield or attacks, put a 0/1 Animal token onto the battlefield under your control.
For each Animal token on the battlefield, Fluttershy gets +1/+1 and can block one extra creature per turn.

Dawww. I like the concept, but I think she should generate one bunny each upkeep instead of when she attacks, that way you never have to attack with her.

That'd be a bit OP after a few turns of leaving the pony alone. At least with her attacking, there's the chance for combat.

I think this fix makes the most sense. :)

Did I mention Fluttershy is my favorite pony?
Evar? Ever ever ever ever?

Ok, Outstanding moment of cute: done.

Seriously though, this ability works. I don't like it though. The ability doesn't flow.
She attacks to make blocker bunnies, which then improve her own ability to defend you. But she needs to attack before she can defend. I don't mean this in terms of how the card relates to Fluttershy's personality, I mean this in how the ability doesn't really work in the current design environment and dictum of Mark Rosewater.
I'm sure you're familiar with why first strike and regenerate don't appear on a card together. It's the same thing here. By attacking, you're making Fluttershy a better blocker. By defending she's not doing anything. I can see the logical ebb and flow, but the card lacks stylistic ebb and flow back and forth.
Personally I'd find it better to maybe make a second card for when Fluttershy is angry. Or possibly make her retaliate when she doesn't have any forest friends or when something of yours dies.
Remember how she stared down the dragon? Yeah. That. Or the Grand Galloping Gala when she goes absolutely psycho over animals avoiding her.

I agree. I feel like this would be a much more sensible card if blocking, not attacking, created the tokens.

Also, this Fluttershy would totally just get killed by the Everfree Manticore under any set of circumstances not involving additional cards, which doesn't fit the story at all. :-/

Mark Rosewater is the devil.

The end.
Light-Dark-Dragon Featured By Owner Jun 14, 2011
Why is Maro the devil?
He set the design standard. He also is the reason we all think that Homelands and Kamigawa were terrible.
ArixOrdragc Featured By Owner Jun 14, 2011
Excuse me? Kamigawa was the best block in the game.

I would like one of this on my plain/forest deck XD
